You really have to appreciate the developers that have taken over for Windows Live Writer since it's gone open source; Open Live Writer. Microsoft completely abandoned Windows Live Writer couple of years ago and there hasn't been any active development on the application for a while.
Just recently, Windows Live Writer stopped working with Blogger altogether. This left a lot of [Blogger] blog authors completely frantic; looking for solutions. The developers fixed that pretty quick and luckily, with the latest release of Open Live Writer, version 6, a few more issues with the Blogger interface has been remedied.
- ability to retrieve drafts from Blogger
- ability to edit older posts greater than 500
- schedule posts to publish at the correct time
- ability to publish and retrieve pages with Blogger
- and Open Live Writer now supports Blogger categories
So in addition to the developers fixing the initial problem of the authentication issue with Blogger, they've made great strides to make Open Live Writer much more compatible. They were able to make these corrections in a matter of just a few weeks, where Microsoft had just ignored their user base for years. Bravo for our new developers.
If you're running the latest version of Open Live Writer, it will update automatically. If you're not running the latest version of Open Live Writer, you can go to their website and download the application for free.

Here's their release notes:
Open Live Writer doesn't have plug-ins yet, but the website where the plug-ins are supposed to be says that they're coming soon. In future versions of Open Live Writer, you'll be able to change the recent and drafts folder; it will be under the application settings. I'm looking forward to a lot of great new features and development for Open Live Writer.
